I am fitting a new interior light into new headliner I have located wires but do you cut out material for the two terminals I wanted to ask question before making the cut I have pulled the wires through located locking clips if anyone could advise might be an easy answer but just want to be sure first time i have rebuilt a car... Thanks

No don't cut out material, Mark centre point of hole with a pencil and then cut a vee shape to each corner of the area where the terminals go through. The flaps of material then press into the hole and act like a bit of an insulator as well. This is how the original is done.
