fitting up front sway bar kit to hr front end

after some photos and guidance with fitting up the sway bar on the hr front end .

So is fouling the tie rods an issue? I remember the old Hadfield kits had shorter swaybar connecting rods. I also recall that using the original bar causes uneven pressure on the end rubbers due to the rods being tilted over. The HR bar doesn't fit too well.

I got industrial springs at Bowden to make me a custom 1" bar from my dimensions.

Didn't cost much at the time. I simply measured between eyes and mounts and had the bar made in a flat plane including the end flanges. Works a treat.

K mac used to make sway bars for all the different models - don't know if they still do.
But FB EK bar is what is needed.
It is the same length as a HR one so you don't get the tilted connecting arms. It is also straight through the centre so it does not foul on the outrigger.
If you are getting one made then that is what you specify.

I seem to recall having this problem on my EK when I put HR front in Ken. Didn't give enough information sorry. When it's not dark and raining here I might check the stock bars out in the yard and verify my thoughts.

Seems Whiteline only have 1 model that fits all FC - EH

Looks correct to me Stash. For the rear I'm looking at using a UC Torana bar but haven't got too far with it I'm afraid.

It's going back many years, but -
I remember when I did a disc brake conversion on my EK that I ended up having to install the Selbys front sway bar upside-down.  It was sold as FE-EH front, and had the V-shape bit at the front to clear the red motor's harmonic balancer.

Assume the box section gets bolted to the chassis.
Given I am finalising all body work before painting, would it be smart to weld these directly to the body?

No guarantee but that's the general idea. I got mine at a swap meet for $2. Planning to play with upright connectors from stock front bar or try making some up from 3/8" rod which may not be hard enough. Angle iron body mounts will be welded to inside of rear chassis rails. Axle mounts with captive nuts welded to housing. That is the plan anyway.
