I think you will find the Torana backing plate has different mounting holes. FE/FC  plates have basically square arrangement while the Torana is slightly wider at the bottom holes.

I assume you want to match  Torana brakes on the front. EJ to HR  rear is an easy swap if you want to retain same wheel offset although I am told you need to use later rims. May be some mucking around with the rear brake hose and I'm pretty sure the bundy tubes are a size up from FE FC. Stock centre can be re-used if desired. Torana rear will allow you to tuck wider rims under the guards but may rub on the inners with body roll on corners. Have a search on here and the EK FB forum. Been done once or twice before.

i purchased an lj torana diff so i could tuck 14 x 8 inch dragways with 245 tyres on them. Finally got diff bolted in this arvo but cant bolt wheels on as they fowl on inner guards. just bought all new brakes to put on diff thought i may have been able to save some cost by reusing brakes on original diff.

You won't fit 8s unless you modify guards and or mini tub. Unless of course you jack the rear up. I run 215/65x13 on 7" rims on an EH rear and they still graze the inner guards with body roll. not that you can hear anything.
