So after four and a half years of frustration and failures its about time I put my build on the forum

after the first three and a half years of trying to do my first rebuild by myself and failing , I called up someone I knew from our car club to see if he could come over and give me some advice, anyway long story short he has given me a great deal of his time , support and guidance to help me get this build back on track and I will forever be gratefull .

Nice looking car. Are you painting it in acrylic? Is your upholstery new?

Hi Graham

yes it is acrylic , the upholstery is all new leather ( very lucky to work in the auto industry and we have a sew room and a very lovely lady that redone all my trim  and I refitted it  )

What are the colours of the paint? You are lucky with the trim.

Thanks,
I have a car identical to yours that I am in the process of restoring. Going to paint the roof Red rather than the single tone exterior. Would you be able to email me the photos to graham.fuller@dorma.com. They maybe of help to my resto.
Cheers,
and thanks.

Looking Great Phil, looking forward to seeing it one day.

Do you want an FE speaker grille instead of that modern FC one?   Smiley

So after almost five years ( yes it was a one year project ) I am ecstatic to say my build is finally complete. ( but are they ever really finished )

I would like to thank the following people , without their help I would have never reached this point.

1. My beautiful wife for putting up with me whilst doing this project , and the other 39 years of marriage Smiley

2. My work mate   IMAN   for all his help with fabrication and welding.

3. Another work colleague  VAL  for all the cut and sew of the interior trim

4. Last but by no means least SCOTT ( aka COLLECTOR ) for EVERY BLOODY THING ELSE. Someone that I have now the absolute pleasure of  now        calling  a  mate .Who's  knowledge and know how on FE & FC Holdens is incredible and without his help this car would have never been completed.

I would also like to thank everyone else who puts their cars & builds on the forum, I would imagine that a lot of others like myself , don't put much on the forum but are on here every day checking on other builds that can help with our builds and getting inspiration to continue and complete.

To the other forum members that are still into their builds , all I can say is keep going, there is nothing on earth in my opinion  that beats just CRUISING  in something that you have poured your heart , soul , sweat ,blood and money into.

HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL ON THE ROAD SOMETIME.   cheers Phil  Grin  Grin  Grin  Grin  Grin  Grin  Grin   Grin

Outstanding Phil I know both the thrill of the chase and the thrill of completion. Nothing beats the latter. Well done.
