Got some advice to ask of you .I have never made a hood lining before but have made the top for my convertible Vauxhall [ have an old pre war Singer and a Pfaff ] is it just a matter of making the patterns for each section[between the bows] and sewing them together with a loop for the hood bows and enough excess to glue the edges .I would assume that there are a few tricks of the trade I would have to look out for . Any advice would be appreciated . Thanks Haydn
1. If you are using a domestic sewing machine, don't, the stitch length will probably not be long enough meaning too many perforations and it will likely rip when fitting.
2. I have always used an old lining for a template, but you method sounds right.
3. Don't sweat the little creases when fitting, they'll come out with a heat gun or on a hot day.
