Starting to plan ( Huh) the trip to Qld for 2016 already.

Just looking for opinions and seeing what others might be doing.

It's going to be a FAMILY affair and on a VERY tight budget (using the term budget Very loosely  Roll Eyes)

We are getting the grandkids to start saving their pocket money.
The plan is to have the kids and grandkids fly over for a couple of  days on the Gold Coast and visit Movie World
Not sure if this would be best the week before the Nats or the week after ?

Depending on time and money... My GRAND PLAN is

The wagon gets trucked to Sydney where Cathy and I pick it up and spend a few days driving up to the Gold Coast
We meet up with all the kids and do 2 or 3 days of touristy stuff. (On a very strictly limited budget)
We send them back home and we cruise up to the Nats
Then we truck the wagon home

No big Nullabor diary this time
(after the last HORROR trip, I doubt we will do it ever again  Shocked. After 7 crossings I think it's about time it was crossed off my bucket list)

Surferboy

Looking at the school calendar for 2016 I would be going to the GC the week prior as Easter is the beginning of the school holidays.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

24/03/16-10/04/16.

Good luck in your plans and budgeting  Grin Grin

Well done, Craig. Count the old man and I in, too. His back is wrecked after decades on the railway, so I'm sure he'd be happiest on your couch  Grin

I live between the Gold Coast and Toowoomba so I may see you guys up there . Probably not a good idea to stay on the coast as its awkward and expensive . Plenty of caravan parks and motels within 30 minutes ,probably a better option . Cheers Haydn

G'day Fred & Candy

Not sure the boss will give us a couple of extra weeks off work to journey to Townsville and back  Cry
although the lure of nice coffee makes  Cool Cool Cool  think about chucking a couple of weeks off on sickies  Cheesy

Was hoping to do the BIG trip across the top end. Through Broome, Darwin, Alice Spring, Ayers Rock etc
Then we could cross that one off the bucket list
AND ADD A FEW EXTRA LINES TO THAT MAP  Grin Grin Grin
it's going to be a short red line from Sydney to Ttoowwoommbbaa.

This trip is all about the Grandkids ( and FE-FC people of course)

Cool Cool Cool is looking forward to that cup of coffee already

All done and sorted
Just finished booking everything for our next Nats journey  (I think  Huh Roll Eyes)

24th Feb Wagon goes to CEVA to start its Nats journey.  We have retired from driving across the Nullabor
14th March We fly into Sydney and pick up the wagon.
15th Parramatta to Muswell Brook. Somehow our cruise up the coast became a country trip Huh
16th MB to Armidale. Via Tamworth so I can do some busking and earn some extra petrol money. ( I start singing and people throw money at me to make me stop  Grin)
17th Arm to Casino. Do a bit of gambling at casino for more petrol money
18th Cas to Gold Coast, Via Byron Bay so we can add a line on our map to the most eastern point of Aus  Grin
Catch up with the kids and grandkids at Surfers and make ourselves as sick as possible on all the theme park rollercoasters   Tongue Tongue Tongue Cheesy Grin

Thurs 24th Head of to Ttoowwoommbbaa to start....

THE NATS WEEKEND
Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Tues 29th Cruise to Brisbane for a couple of nights to relax before dropping the wagon at CEVA and jumping on a plane to fly home

If you see us on our journey, give us a toot and a wave   Grin
