Hi Trev.
Where abouts in WA are you. Those photos look to be down south?
I spent a great deal of time in WA & if I ever move from my beloved TAS, I will  head back there.

Hi Trev.
I am in Hobart, TAS. BUT, I spent a good deal of time down south of WA. Bunbury,  Busselton, Donnybrook, Manjimup, Albany, Esperence & also in Perth itself. Relaxed at Scarborough Beach for a good deal of time.
Loved it all.

Trev.
I got a picture of me & a mate at the Manjimup pub. It had the smallest pool table I have ever seen. Even the balls were little. It would have had to have been less than a metre wide & only about 1.5 metres long. Small as.
It reminds me of TAS over there. Very easy going & a cool place to be. The "Railway" pub in Donnybrook was GREAT. Heaps of overseas backpackers (CHICKS!!!!). Me & my mates loved it Grin Grin Grin Wink.
Man, you are making me homesick (??)

Rob & Trev

Thought you guy's might be interested in this pic, it is of my grandfathers bus run ,late 30's early 40's,  "Donnybrook to Bunbury". Note the "gas producer" on the front of the bus, during the war years petrol was next to non-existant. My mum used to drive these buses when she was 15 , she is now 77.
Cheers

Hey Harko
Thanks mate , great to be backand in a "vertical" position again , it's taking me ages catching up on all the posts.
Local Cops kept asking my grandfather "when's your daughter gonna come in for her licence"  Tongue . She still didn't go for her licence till 1946 when she moved here (NSW) .  (heheh). and the OLDIES go nuts over "unlicenced  drivers"  :-/

Hey Trev
It was "Martins Bus Service"  , I'll have to ask mum where it was taken. get back soon.
cheers
Norm

Hi Trev & Rob
Info on the pic , the buses are parked in "Princep st. near cnr of Victoria st. Bunbury. My grandfather started the run 4th July 1938 and retired 18th Sept 1952. The front bus was a Bedford truck chasis (last truck from UK to W.A. before war) Rear bus was new Chev (pic taken when new) man near Chev , Ernie Sears , drove while granfather was in the army.

Bus run = "Donnybrook - Argile - Boyanup - Dardanup - Picton - Bunbury"
  Cheers

Norm ,Can you remember a black 38 Ford coupe parked in front of the Royal Hotel back in the late 60s early 70s, Apparently the bar maid owned it and drove it to and from work ?, Then it went to Port Kembla where  my father filled it up with fuel once a week as a station attendant when he was 16, Then it was stripped in a backyard in Warrilla (a local suburb) which is where he bought it from.
He then Hotrodded it(Chevy running gear etc) and drove it everyday for around 16-17 years, consequentely I grew up in the back seat untill I was about 16- just too young to get out lapping town and using that back seat for other more exciting expieriances.
But I thought you may remember it.
