Hi guys, just picked it up from Cessnock last weekend as a roller,  had a re fresh in the 80's which is in line with your thoughts Pete. My father has a panel shop, my brother is also a beater and both can't believe how clean the body is. All the usual trouble spots have minor rust, most panels will only require hi-fill primer and a good rub. Has had a CRS trannie tunnel and has had a chassis kit started. Am wanting to build a low tough streeter, but with the body in this condition am now wondering if back to original might be in the best interest of this particular car.... Tough call....  Thoughts???

I think this is the elusive FC i had been chasing for a while bloke about 35-40 was umming and arghing as to weather or not to sell it.

I got the 2 other sedans from his dads property .. (if its the car )

Shockwave bag system rails are new as well to change the ride height.

With the body in such good condition......

Perfect for starting to build what you want - a really good clean and straight body and frame is much easier to work with.  Some mods already started (tranny tunnel and chassis), so I would keep going and modify it.

I have a spare 5L V8 from a VR in good running cond to put in it!!! Actually it's in a statesman that's still registered and daily drive...

Bingo!  Thought the car looked familiar . . .

In 2008 when I was starting out on the restoration of my FC, I bought a steering column and king-pin front suspension from Cessnock.  It was the same Mark Granger.

Seems to be a small world here in the FC community.. Car is now in Ballarat and will start getting some love soon.. Now need to find a sympathetic engineer to plan the drive train..

Given the engine capacity restrictions that have come into play with the info of the new VSB, I think that a 1UZ Toyota V8 is a slick option. You can get a lot of performance gear for them too, albeit out of the States.

Despite recently finishing my triple weber 202 powered FC, I am seriously considering swapping the 6 for a 1UZ. You can buy an 8 throttle body intake for them which looks pretty trick.

There is/was a guy on the ozrodders forum who was looking into making finned rocker covers for the 1UZ, but I am not sure if he ended up doing it.

Ed is a bloke on this forum who built up an FE wagon and is now building a 1UZ powered early F truck. He is very cluey - I wonder if he has found some shiny bits that transform the 1UZ into an older looking engine?
