In my research on the ol' girl, I joined a historical mailing list in Tassie. One of the members posted this link the other day:

Old Pictures of Lonnie

A few pics feature FEs and FCs, but I do like this one:

Yep. The Launceston branch of the TFHS (Tas Family History Soc.) have replied to me and having someone looking into it.

I've also had some correspondence from LINC Tasmania (State Library/Archive & Heritage), who have some maps to assist and details from Assessment Rolls of owners and occupiers. I'm calling into see them on my arrival.

All in all, sounds reasonably hopeful Smiley

And this is where she was sold from. Unfortunately it looks like it's been modernised. A bit.

cheers

You might want to visit their original location, which is where your FE was sold.
165 Brisbane St Launceston.

I would love to be there to see your car parked out front.

Yes, it sounds quite probable that you'll finding the site.
A shot of your car in front of the building Alex found would add something special to the car's historic records too.

Thanks for the tipoff about the change of address, Alex.

I'll definitely visit that spot and get a photo or two.

It says “Motors Pty Ltd, Sales and …..” Motors opened in Launceston in 1921 to sell Ford cars. In 1928 they opened a showroom at this site. This bricked up entrance way was a back entrance, with the front entrance still visible at 165 Brisbane Street (between KFC and some electronic shop, look up). Mortys sits on the site that was Motors. Through a tiny private car park and down some funny little alleyway halfway up Kingsway (next to Kathmandu) is where this sign is, the alleyway goes around the back exits to cinema screens

Another interesting remnant of the old Motors.
