Dave that link you posted was great. It does say that he had a contract to transport new holdens from Dandenong to Deniliquin. I bet the family would love to have a model of dads business. Cheers Stewy So it did. I read one on his son also on the same site. Got a bit late last night too & I mixed the articles. I agree, the family would most likely love it. I'd be happy to contribute. Perhaps John needs check with them first anyway if the model is to have the same sign writing - no idea about the legalities there. With 3 sons, chances are some immediate family are still listed in the phone book. http://www.roadtransporthall.com/s/967-11-scott-wayne.html

Guys we have a difference of opinion form my Ford mate (sorry to use that four letter word starting with F) but good old Ray is adamant the truck is as follows
No, I think it is the F500/F600 for sure. The F350 was too light duty to be a Car Transporter/ Semi.
Not sure if we have any F nuts but what is the consensus here, buy the way the feedback and assistance is sensational thanks to all. Regards John

Got in touch with Bruce today and he advised me he would love us to make the truck. His dad is now 86 so he asked us to get a wriggle on as he wants his dad to see it as he was sure dad would be thrilled so away we go. Thanks again to all, you are a great bunch of guys and your help makes these projects possible.Cheers John

It must make it all worth while when you get the ok from the family. To think that this all started with a picture posted on a thread is even better and now to be able to track down the family and talk to them about your plans must be a thrill. I honestly believe that this model will take pride of place on their mantle. It also shows the wealth of knowledge within this forum, a great result by all involved. Do you have any idea on how long it will take to have them made? Also put me on the list when they are in. Thanks again for your efforts, Jim

Hi Jim, yes agree doing this to give the family a great keep sake of their fathers great achievement is where we get the most pleasure. This forum is filled with knowledge and the most generous people sharing time and information. I have been around car clubs for forty years and you guys are the cream of the crop. It is a privilege to be associated with this club and something I never take for granted. Thanks so much and your name is on one for sure. It will take six months to build the truck and it will carry all the signage that was on the original. John Red_Devil.

Sounds great John. Did you ask about additional photos of the truck, or perhaps larger photos of the ones on the forum. Would help the model maker to get the signage as accurate as possible. Regards Alex

That's really good news John. I look forward to proudly displaying the finished product with vehicles on board. What a great representation of the era so many of us have fond memories of.

Adding to photos of freighting FE and FCs. This photo came into my possession when i attended the funeral of the owner of ERF Transport, Ted Fullgrabe, who is the driver in the photo. He transported between Adelaide and Melbourne. As you can see predigital photography wasn't always the best. Enjoy!

There's probably some really interesting history between the lines of the Transport Hall of Fame article, and some classic shots. Look forward to reading & viewing more. Dave.
