Just hire a female contorsionist with benefits, then you will change the plugs more often  Cheesy

Gaz, First off when modifying for a v8 the space between the motor and chassis should be taken into consideration. That is look at the big picture before starting. If you can modify the engine mounts for example to give you more space then do this. Some people think "well the exhaust bloke can deal with the small space i have left". This is why you find some use the CRS extractors. They dont think ahead. I have a bloke in Geelong who does extractors and he is very good. Was also reasonably priced when i had mine done but i think he is busy although you could try. Let me know if you want his number.

Wouldnt having the engine back further with rear rack make it harder, u dont want it forward, so has it been done with higher mounts, who has a pic of a sbc done not through the inner guards.  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

Deanno, I wasnt suggesting moving the engine more to the rear. I was suggesting if possible to move the engine mounts on the engine further forward to allow more room for the exhaust pipes to go through. Obviously moving the mounts on the engine forward would also need the supports on the cross member also to be moved forwards. Hope this makes sense.

Further back you can put the engine, the more it opens up to allow the pipes out.

mr fink,

if dizzy is a drama at firewall, pete jackson or moros or i think even jesel make a frot mount conversion to fit the dissy in the front of a SBC like a ford windsor is, gives you heaps of extra room. we used to do this in LH-LX toranas a fair bit as it gives 2 major benefits, 1 being the ease of fitment in your case, and 2 benefit, is its way easier to tune the car when dissy at front rathe than reaching all the way back to turn the dissy
old skool pipe builders are few and far between these days, and you will certainly get what you pay for..mark shearer from shearer race cars in reservoir makes some of the best pipes i have ever seen, but they dont come cheap, al hawkins at ultimate exhast also is very very good, but starts at $1500 plus for an easy set, but thwy will be awesome, not very many others i would even look at today to build pipes.

Not a problem with the dizzy, plenty of space, main problem I think will be the Y Frame strengthening connectors,i don't wan't some knuckle- head FI UP,but you told me something I never knew regards the front mount dizzy,BTW you can drop the MR,i'm still a spring chicken, lol,Gaz! Cheesy

Hey Gaz, I have some SB chev parts that you can have if you want them. Hot cams, water pumps, rocker covers chrome and finned, starter motors and nose cones i think 10 1/2 and 11 inch, harmonic balancers and other parts all in plastic tubs. Starters are in pieces not sure of condition. Take one take all. Parts are in storage in Hoppers. Call me on 0412 282 282 tomorrow if you want them.
