Just found this one out  (after all these years)
If you want to save all your outgoing messages and not have to worry about checking the option on each message you send, go to your profile and under personal message options you can apply the setting.

Stinky, I thought everyone played with everything when they first get something, like a new fc, a house .......other things...........etc  

Other things I like that ppl may not have used are:

Return to topics after posting by default.
Show most recent posts at the top.
Show most recent personal messages at top.
Day month and year the way u like

Dont forget to lock it in with the change button  as for all the other setting options too.
