photo taken today ..windowless panelvan has a colourful history and was originally owned by a funeral parlour to transfer clients :-/ to or from town for departures.. it wasnt a hearse. it was once involved in an accident with a deceased client onboard...later it was owned by a local panel beater til the mid 80`s and then sold to a young bloke who was gunna do it up. a sad end for a fc pv.

Just have a look at my van when I first got it nad that one is only a little past it... Does he want to get rid of it? I am looking for a back half to make a trailer.
Cheers Jason.

Jason
I will take the bumper over riders if they are in good condition and can be re-chromed, and may be the number plate surround.
That is if the guy is interested in getting rid of it. We all may aswell save what we can.
It is a shame to see our history and a rare car go like this.

Rob, can you please get the body numbers and chassis number for me. Very hard to find ID details from WA assembled vehicles and I would love to find ID details from FE or FC vans, standard sedans, standard wagons or business sedans.

Hey there. Thanks for the pic and history. Sounds like an interesting car. What a pitty it ended like this. What was the original colour? Looks like it got a brush paint job at some time. Score me that number plate if you can and send it to me. It would look good up on the garage wall with the other plates. Let's see those other pics when you get a chance. Regards Alex

Rob - this is a very interesting ID plate. It appears as if GMH have put an FJ ID plate on this van. Does it really say 50-2104 or is it FC-2104 Original colour is India Ivory, but 662 trim code indiates green and black interior which would be very strange for a van - but then again it may be a special order. Can you check please and I would really love to get the chassis number if it is a Perth van.
It should be FC-_____-P since 10320 is a very high number and is certainly late in 1959
Regards Ken

I think that Trim Code should probably be 173-652 India Ivory exterior, with Fall Red interior Other unlikely interior possibilities are: 653, "Peasant Blue" 654, "Dravo Green" 655, "Mesa Tan" and extremely unlikely 769, "Royal Mail Van" cheers RET

ret we did have a short debate about the last diget on trim--must be why i didn't write it down-decided it was 55 but it was difficult to read--pretty sure top is 333-does that indicate roof was different col

Hi Rob, From memory the 333 represented the glass in the upper tailgate ie: not blind Jason

Because these things were stamped more-or-less manually, the actual location of the numbers are often a bit adrift of the heading they belong with. "333" would be the R.P.O. number (Regular Production Option), and that code means the tailgate had glass, ie not a Blind Van All vans and utes were one colour. End of story. Rumours of limited production of "special" commercial vehicles remain just that. Every one I've heard of has turned out to have Station Sedan trim retro-fitted. cheers RET

Very appreciative, this is the first Perth Van ID I have got and it is also the highest Perth chassis number as well as the highest van body number. This would have to be one of the very last FC vans built ever.
