Gday Guys,I was wondering if anyone could help me in regard to rust repairs in ute floor{rear}.
Is the wagon floor pan exactly the same as the ute? Also is the petrol tank in the same position on both ute and wagon.
And is there something that goes over the petrol tank in the utes or does the spare wheel sit directly on top of the tank?
Im assuming there would have been something like a cover plate otherwise the spare wheel may damage the petrol tanks sender unit or
foul on the wiring for it?
Any help would be appreciated!
My petrol is ok but where it is mounted is just about rotted out and tank is being held in only by a couple of screws and a fair bit of rust!
Thank you very much!

Wagon floor is the same as ute and petrol tank is the same as well.
The spare wheel does sit on top of the tank.

What Ken said, also there were bitumous cut outs a few mm thick in the pressings of the tank and a sheet of the same stuff on top of that, at least that was the case with the sedans, not sure about the other variants

My ute had nothing left on top of tank, there is only enough room in there for a standard wheel and tyre to just slide in and out the spare tyre door
