The Street Machine Association of South Australia (SMASA) are pushing through with a proposal to include "Street Machines" on the SA Conditional Registration Scheme.
The scheme has been running for a number of years for Restored Cars and just recently Street Rods have been included.
So if your car is Pre '79 and modified we want to hear from you.

In the first instance we have setup a Facebook page (easiest to do) - http://www.facebook.com/groups/102581586553305/
A proper website will follow.

Clubs will be contacted by email and normal mail in the next few weeks.

You can sign up to get on the email list by emailing - smcr@smasa.com.au

A long time between updates, the first post didn't attract much interest anyway  Undecided
There must be too many restorers in SA  Tongue

Anyway, I am off to see the State Premier's Chief of Staff for a little chat this afternoon  Grin

Thanks Alex.

A very positive meeting today with the Premier's Deputy Chief of Staff.
The Deputy Chief was very positive, open and responsive. It was obvious that there had been some prior discussion on the topic.
The main concern is not having people getting cars on the scheme that shouldn't be on it (Daily Drivers).
Next, he will be talking to Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure officials to see what they have to say.
At the moment it is looking good but there is still a way to go yet.

Keep up the good work Stinky.

At least they are talking to the right people.

Cheers

614 online signatures and quite a few full paper ones have been handed in, something to keep up our sleeve at this stage as it is looking positive at the moment.
