So I am gathering all the stuff I need for this conversion and the wife hasn't specified ABS or not. I have ABS on the VT loom and brake lines with the engine bay unit. I have an LSD diff (nice score) from VS ute with no ABS sensors. I can get another one with the sensors as its gotta be cut down and the shorter axle from the other diff used.

So the real question is is it really worth putting on ABS? Its not like I'll be driving close to tool bags in front of me to actually activate them.

Thoughts anyone?

The only way that i have come across is to use the front hub from the VT commodore to get the correct sensor mount, which is contained in the bearing. So therefore you need a front end set up that can adapt to taking the Vt stub to mount the bearings to and thus giving you access to the ABS on the front end.
Rear is a lot easier as it is contained in the vs diff, but you will need to shorten the VS axles as they have the sensor rings on the axle.
So you will be looking at a V6 conversions front end or something similar... Not sure Rod tech uses the VT stubs.
I have been told that the rim sizes need to be the same front to rear, or the sensors pick up the difference in rotational speed, activating that abs.

I did this once at Hoppers Stoppers whilst there. Customer was buying a brake kit to suit a CRS dropped stub. Because we made our own hubs I turned up the back of the hub to suit the Commodore sensor ring and drilled a hole in the stub axle to mount the detector - It all worked out pretty easily but this was a specialised fitting and obviously suited the application we were selling.

corner cutting not a style of mine but I want the engine in.....
money, yeah that cuts me short for every dollar I spend my wife spends 3 (pairs of shoes)
