I have converted the tank including repositioning the inlet, removed the breather tubes and return line from tank to fit into the FC Ute. I know I need a widget to get the sender unit to tell the fuel gauge what is really going on. I am keeping the grey motor. Hoping to keep the commodore sender unit. Other than clean out and paint and the niggly problem of how to get the exhaust past the tank  do I have all bases covered?

Thanks in advance

G'day Wayne,

Double check that when going up a very steep incline that the fuel tank will not "bottom out" before something else does. Normally park the car on a bit of string, then run the string from under the rear wheel up to the bumper bar area. Check that the tank doesn't protrude out past the string, otherwise the tank bottoms out first.

Sounds silly, but there are quite a few home made drop-tanks that prohibit drivers from going up concrete ramps at some shopping centres. Engineers tend to take a pretty dim view of it as well (for good reason).

Cheers,
Harv.

Wayne, not sure about a widget. You can get the original commodore sender recalibrated to suit the FC gauge. I had mine done at an instrument supplier in melbourne.
