Battery in Boot and Cables

Guys I am after some info on what size (amp) cable that I need to remote my battery to the boot and do I need to run both cables back or just the positive. If anybody has a wiring diagram and or some pics I would appreciate it. I have a series 2 VN/P V6.

You only need to run 1 lead for the positive but you will need at least  good earth leads earth motor to body and earth battery to a rail or something substantial.

If you run an auto earth your gearbox as well as i have seen a few times the power likes to earth your shifter cable out.

You will need good cable ask for high flex 75mm SQ its roughly 16mm diameter and get a lecco mob to either solder or crip with hydraulic crimpers your ends on.

Consult a lecco mob if in doubt but you will get a small amount of current drop .

Also run the power for accesories ect up from the starter where the cables are attached.

Thanks Hoon thats what I was looking for is it better to run it through chassis rails or under car or inside cabin.

Whatever floats your boat.  i had mine running along the chassis rails so i just "P" clipped it to the inside of the rail under the car as long as theres no chafe points.

This may be a stupid question but what are P clips and where do I get them.

P clips are shaped like a P (hence the name) the cable runs in the hole and a screw or rivet holds the clip to the body. They generally have a rubber insulator as well. Any electrical supply company has them in stock

Make sure you get insulated ones so they dont chafe
