I'm after advice as to what other people have done regarding windscreen washers. I know that there was an original nozzle that screwed into the base of the wiper mount but haven't been able to find any through my scrounging. I purchased a kit some time ago but the nozzles that I have require me to drill holes in my bonnet and I'm not really happy to do that, maybe only as a last resort. Are the original ones available aftermarket now or does anybody have a set for sale. Neil

Neil, I had a bit of a time getting the screw out of mine, small flat blade screwdriver and a few taps on the bench got it out. Jim

Your right Jim I just printed out the document and the nozzle looks good (page 19 of the doc). I like the idea of being able to adjust them both ways. I will wait and see if I can get my screws out before buying a pair but I agree with you the price is good.

Good news I put a screw driver on the plugs in my bezzels and they just unscrewed without any effort, I've had the car 16 years and never touched them so they must have been taken out sometime in the past or I am just lucky.
Anyway will order a couple of the Rover nozzles from Mark Richmond and problem solved.
Thanks for the help.

Jim
Do a Ebay search for "55 56 57 58 Chevy Windshield Washer Spray Nozzles" and you will find them ex USA. I landed them in OZ around $14 including Postage.
Just copy and paste text into eBay
Fit straight in.
Good Luck

I know the vanes in the superchargers I have are fibre/cloth reinforced bakelite which is probably the same material as Dave mentioned for circuit boards. Im pretty sure it is also known as Phenolic which can still be bought in sheets. There are also some variants around known as Micarta,Delrin,Tuffnol. I have heard that some materials do swell but havent heard that they are affected by fuel.
I was looking for a more modern type material which would create less friction, wear and heat. (without reinventing the wheel) Gary.
