Finally some time in the shed this afternoon, finished fitting up all the mountings for the windows and central locking. Also fitted the skin to the rear door and test fitted to the body before fully fitting the skin and priming it.Tomorrow I hope to fit the other three skins and prime them as well.

Finally all done, all four doors reskined, cleaned and under coated ready for refitting.

can anyone see a problem with the skins?
Didn't notice untill it was fitted, but the right hand skin doesn't have the hole for the door lock (must be a standard skin) no matter, I'll cut the old skin and use it as a template.
Now to fit the front and rear ends and get her back on the ground and fit and gap the doors and guards, then at long last PAINT.

Your shed must have been a lot warmer than mine this weekend Jim.
Very thorough job.

Been at it again over the last few days, had a chance to get some of the more tedious jobs done. Smoothed the guards and fixed a few rust spots that came to light after blasting. Also smoothed the door openings and pillars and primed them ready for final rub and high fill, so all the work that has been done now looks like the rest of the car. Also been working on the EJ rear end, getting it ready to fit so I can get her back on her wheels.

Got some more done today, pulled the front frame off the rotisserie so I could clean up, smooth  and prime the firewall.
Also cleaned and painted the gearbox cover, steering column plates and front bumper irons. Imgur has changed it's format again so once I work it out I'll post some photos of the progress. All these small jobs are adding up and gives me something to do while I'm waiting for the rear end to come back from being blasted. Each little job gets me another step closer to being ready for paint.

Can't believe it's been 6 mths since I've done any work on the old girl, I have been kept busy around the house and our daughters new home at Bingara Gorge. I have had a chance to dismantle the EJ rear end that will go into the FC and clean it up and remove the old bearings and wheel studs from the axles. Everything has been stripped back to bare metal and repainted in satin black, new bearings, seals, wheel studs and crown gear and pinion will be fitted along with the new drums, brake shoes and wheel cylinders ready for refitting.
The down side is I will have to replace the outer sills as the old repo sills are out of shape and the front doors sit over the top of the sill on both sides. At least I have been lucky to pick up a pair of nos outer sills, so hopefully they will fix the problem.
