A few bits on the bonnet to smooth over
and those high/low spots to level out

Then it's PAINT time 

Nick. you can't copy the tailfins cos then it wont be different to the rest 
        (of course you can  .  BUT they don't fit without modifiying them with a big angle grinder    )
and now we're playing around with some other bits to modify as it goes back together..  just to make it that little bit different

Haven't been to the workshop to take pics this week
I've been to busy doing LOTS of overtime
to pay for the new carport we had built to protect the wagon when it comes home





It' getting spoilt
It spent the last 11 years out in the rain

WE HAVE PAINT  
                                 

and being an Aussie now, I just had to stick with

Holden series II   herron white

for some strange reason I was toying around with the thought of using a t####a colour 
But the feeling passed and I feel much better now 

and playing around with body lines to determine the exact position for the two tone paint to finish

Paint looks great surferboy - have you thought about getting the late 59 stripe and running it up to the C pillar like a sedan?

I was going to keep this all a secret and suprise you at the Nats
but I'm hopless at keeping secrets and got excited about showing you how good it looks

3 tone ?



Because of the hassles trying to figure out stainless (chrome) options to seperate paint colours, we've chosen to do a subtle silver pinstripe extending from the tailfins to seperate the white and blue


The  orignal plan was to finish the blue at the diagonal stainless piece that comes down the back door. But HORRIBLE bodylines on the wagon around the windows and door area meant we needed another plan. So we've extended the blue along the body to the front door. And this proved to be the better look as it will tie in the blue better with the blue that will go on the dashboard  and inside the front doors. And it lengthens the body rather than making it 'boxy' with just the short blue patch.
long view.  and the pinstripe dissapears from view but still divides the blue/white join



then you replace the stainlesss trim bits and it goes BLING 

(even with the dirty stainless bits  )

Got to go now
I've been spending on some original pieces of stuff that will go into the rebuild (sshh these ARE secret  )
and I've got to see the boss for 6 weekends of overtime so I can buy the $1500 rubber kit  I need so it can start going back together

Awesome job and love that blue!!
The pin stripe works really well. Any tips on putting pins stripes on? I have the same silver stripe to put on my boat.

its all masked and painted, it's not a stick on pinstripe
with no edge feelable (is that a real word ?) when the clear is done over it

All I want for Xmas is my two front teeth...whoops... I meant to say I wanted the wagon back on the road
But it didn't happen 




It's back on its side again
I think Flames stole part of a rollercoaster ride and turned it into a car roller over thingy *




It makes it a lot easier to fit brake lines and other undercarriage stuff ^#.



and while the twopack has been drying some of the other bits and pieces are being done



and (another one of the bits I was going to keep secret. But I can't resist showing you) the custom built underdash panel to fit all the gauges, switches, caravan brake controller, security system,horn, hazardlights, power outlets, etc etc

The large panel fits up under the hinged speaker grille and houses the stereo system and fuse box

The blue is also a commodore series II colour.  Voodoo Blue
Looks good in the sun

Well done, thats one good looking wagon, the colours look good together and that pinstrip really sets it off. I was also toying with the under dash panel, but just for the radio, gauges and heater/fan controls.
