I need to separate my bumper bar one section has rust
what is the best way to do this, l can see the rivets have been spread at the ends
do l need to grind these off
do you replace these rivets or just go for a nut and bolt
will the nut and bolt hold alright

      thanks greg

Hi Greg, At least it's a good sign that you still have your original bumper bar/s = no major prangs.

I've always drilled mine out, you will need a nice sharp drill bit, about 5/16 ? or maybe a little smaller in case you miss the centre of the rivet, then replace with nuts & bolts.
