Hey guys, not wanting to re invent the wheel or spend to much money on a custom job what sumps would fit my turbo rb30 with HR disk brake front end with a front mounted rack! Or can I mod the one I have?

 Cheers Wayne

Wayne,
You can modify your sump, but you will have to extend and change the angle of the oil pump pic up

Do I need to keep the sump the same volume or greater as motors being worked at the moment.

Thanks

will take some pics of mine if you want monday has been out of the car for a few months now.

Just cut up your old sump i run the standard baffle but my sump holds exactly 5 litres
I cut the whole pan off 20 mm up from the flange and made all new sections from 1.. zinc seal.

just modify your pick up but whatever you do spend the time to check how far down your pick up goes into the pan my first one that i did when i was 16 went to low so when i bolted it up it had crushed the mesh strainer having oil pressure dramas it did not take to long to sort out.

Pictures are great mate!! looking at hello john from the front the amount off fall from right to left would be say maybe another 20 25 mm and did you fold the 1 mm seal (just kidding) (a typo I know) in as many ways as you could to achieve the desired shape. Nice neat job weddo.

I just cut the sheetmetal off the sump 20mm all the way around and started with new 1.2mm zinc sheet.
Also note the angle the engine sits on a angle the top of your rocker cover should be square mine has a baffle inside as well.
My first sump was like pedro,s and being young and dumb driving like a nob i got oil surge a lot oil gauge use to drop on corners.

i actually left the sheet metal long before welding the bottom in it.
and set the engine up and i got a piece of timber with a marker attached to it and marked all the way around the pan so it was all level looking.

holds exactly 5 litres.
