Hi,

The Old girl's got a terrible rattling sort of squeak coming from the front end as I cruise down the main drag (on the way to work, of course!  Wink ) If I put a little bit of pressure on the brakes the noise disappears. It's a HR front end, new pads, machined discs, "rattle" pins are there. The wheel bearings have been checked and everything else seems as good as gold.

Any ideas?

Peter
The original HR Discs had a steel shim that went between each brake pad and caliper piston to minimise rattle and squeal. Even with these fitted they sometimes still played up. I suggest using a good anti squeal /anti rattle glue specifically for disc brakes which usually stops the problem by glueing the pads to the piston and providing a rubberised cushion. Both Loctite and PBR put out good products for this purpose.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Thanks again Jock, I'll try the stuff you recommended.

(I hope I don't drive you round the twist before I get this car sorted out!)
