doesnt this mean you should really be on a commodore forum lol. You have given me crazy ideas that I only think of for like 2 minutes when i am pissed, but you are serious???  Grin

Now u got me thinking all sorts of crazy shit. perhaps I should buy a vl and tack on the fc panels cos i have an rb30 engine too! the roof would be the main issue.  Huh

There have been forum members that have put Commodore floor pans into an FC, I wonder is it at all possible to effectively cut the Commodore body off, leaving the floor pan and subframe etc and grafting the FC wagon body onto the floor and subframe of the Commodore.

Just a thought

There was an guy that did the same thing with an FJ a couple of years ago, although I didn't see the end result.... not even sure where the site was now. Am pretty sure that he had to make the whole of the car wider to accommodate the chassis of he commodore that he used.

realisticly tho i cant see it happening windows door jams width height shape  everything is different

that fc wagon is a very very sad old girl evrything looks shagged or rusty.

but prove me wrong many have i think i would cut my losses and find a half decent wagon shell or car and use the old girl as a donor. Undecided

the front curve of the fc bonnet is exactly the same as a commodore. i have check this with fc on top of the commodore. just for a laugh. but i like what i sore.  this mod has been done before using a ek and a vn commodore sedan.(on the fbek forum) i like it originally but after closer looks, i think it would be better with the FC and not a sedan..and has been done with a fj to vr sedan on the old Holden forum not completed that i know of, and just didn't look right from side on. i have spoken to a lot of people about the mod. I agree it is a way out there modification. More people would prefer to put the commodore gear into a fc then  to put a fc onto a commodore, but there is more work and engineering to put all the gear in a fc the put the shell onto a commodore and mod is classed as a commodore with a body kit. but when you drive both cars the fc may not have power steering, aircon and a comfortable ride BUT will have a lot more power then the original and look FC cool. my plan is to have the look of a FC Cool car( which i love). it was my first car and always wanted and other. i have had fx Ute as well but still love the FC. I like the handling of the commodore, the power and the reliability and fuel eco of the v6 commodore but i DONOT like the look..

With putting the FC shell onto the commodore i hope to get the Cool Look of my favorite Holden the FC. but the drivabilty of a more modern commodore. i am planning on trying to make the interior to look like the FC as well. I will get the seats changed to the double bench seat, using the bench seat out of a taxi or Ute and collum shift and get the re-trimmed in the FC tuck and roll look. i will look at changing whole fc steel dash  and flat door trims to match later.

I know it will take a lot of time but for now i am going to do the out side and get it regoed. plan for Sept this year.then consentrate on the interior. It will be a Cool daily driver family car.

i have almost decided to abort doing too much to mine and do a stocky but very quality resto using just hr front end and a decent rack and brakes etc. everything standard.

Commodores dont handle that great anyway, so it would be cheaper to have 2 cars, a safe original cruiser, but also have a decent jap sportier car that actually goes fats and turns corners without all the dramas.

Ive only had satisfaction in handling from the latest VE out of all the commodores. I currently have a fg falcon g6, not bad had 2 ve's before that, in 3 weeks I will be getting the ve sportswagen sv6. Should be a nice ride. I have plenty of time to decide while i am doing the body work. I am always in 2 minds, but I think I wanna have something prehistoric but just enough mods to pull her up so I dont run up the ass of the hotrodders on downhill runs at club meetings  Cheesy
