M.I.G. & Compressor

Am about to go and get a new mig welder and compressor and thought it would be a good idea to get some opinions on brands and functions.

Currently looking at a Weld Tech Australia WTA 180 $1050
Does anyone use one of these or would like to recomend one.
I like the spot weld timer feature on this one 0.3 to 5 seconds which will help control heat distortion

Also need an Air compressor  ,I had in mind a 3 cyl belt driven jobbie but dont have a clue what brand to look for - Any recommendations and prices would be mucho appreciated,,,Cheers

MIG Welder - i recently bought a MigOMag and I think it's pretty good.  15kg wire, 6 broad amp settings, sire speed, burn back, spot and stictch weld control, Binzel torch..  feels really pro. twin cooling fans etc.. only draw back is quite pricey.. around $1600

can do up to 6mm.

Had a go of a UniMig last weekend, and found it sucky, cheap torch, settings werent on a dial so you couldnt see the set up at a glance.

compressors, aplace called Buttsworth engineering had good deals on 17cfm units, but not quite the 3 cyl slow revver u had in mind i think..

try going to auctions for cheap trades tools.

thats a very nice mig with great set of functions for the price, i think you will Be very happy with it for years to come,
a good compressor sise is 17cfm anything smaller will have to work hard nonstop to keep up with tools or spray gun. make sure you shop around in the yellow pages for price on compressor as prices vary wildly
