I have had to keep driving to miss a turn on several occasions lately as i see the people behind have not slowed or spotted that i am turning. And as soon as you drive anywhere they think old car its going to be slow i need to cut that thing off to get in front of it. cannot wait for a bit of HP under my foot again..

I recall driving in my FC, stopped at traffic lights, and a bloke in a Ford Festiva just had to get into the next lane to race past to get in front of me.

Been lots on of late trying to keep motivated FE has a new engine Twin carbs Headers Ran the motor in now fitting the twins All ceramic coated De dagged the headers 6hrs later they look good. Fitted a new hoist. Aussie speed has a lot to answer for way out of square had to mill 3mm off the face to get the headers to fit and modify all retainer plates and exhaust flanges didnt clear 2nd in studs. Rare nasco heater tap. Re doing linkages

Ceramic coat looks magic. 3mm seems a lot. Would have been a bigger issue for me. Love the heater tap too.

Lets say if he was around yesterday I would have loved to of rammed it where the sun dont shine. I had the pair bolted to a plate to keep thwm steady while I de dagged them so I never noticed the face they would have never sealed. So that then put the inlet manifold out had to mill 3.5mm off it too.

Noticed you have used round bar for the linkage rod, the guy who rebuilt my triples set them up with hex bar as he said there is no chance of any of the levers slipping under load. Posted shots on my build if want to have a look. Jim

I seen them Jim they are pretty. Was going that way but thought i would just set it all up and tig the arms to the rod but may not be able to as i have to see if i can remove the rod with the arms welded on. Might run the old set up to get me going first then go down the hex bar route. I used braided lines for the heater and plan on doing the same as yours in black for the fuel.

Just dawned on me!! Now you have headers, how are you doing the engine pipes?. Would be interested in what you come up with, I'm still looking for stainless pipes for mine. Jim

I think I talked to you before about it, that is what I'm planning as the donor car had 2" stainless tail pipe but just standard engine pipe and muffler. If you are willing can you bend me up a set of engine pipes when you do yours and let me know what price they would be. Many thanks, Jim

came up with this set up this morning milled the round bar with a flat on it then cut on the waterjet new arms from 3mm stainless. Then i cut from 10mm s/s a piece with a D cut into it i will drill and tap the lump on the back and put a grub screw into it. its very snug fit atm ayway. then i tig the 3mm to the 10mm at the desired angle solid as a rock then. My mistake was trying to get the linkages to go on the outside but i couldnt get the travel i needed. so after seeing jims on the inside i copied that now everything works fine and i use original throttle set up just have to make a new shorter linkage rod.

That looks real neat and should solve any slipping. Nigel had the same issues when he set mine up, that's why he went to the inside, full movement and looks neater. Jim

Hopefully I get to start her today. A few more pieces to the puzzle. Just need to fit grub screws to lock it all in place. I need to shorten the rod . I asked on the grey motor page the best way to lock it all in but my mate spammed the page. Do I put a spring on the rod between the front throttle link and rose joint and put a washer and split pin on the end that way its always locked in place.

Mine is locked in place by a collar and grub screw at both ends. You could cut two more of the D's and use them. Jim

I am using the original return spring at the body linkage and a smaller spring at each carby linkage just to be sure of full return. Jim
