Differential Oil

Is it ok to use a 90 grade LS oil in the differential of an FC?   I have 4 ltrs of it in the shed and would like to use it if possible.  I spoke to the tech service manager of a dealership for a different brand and he said they use 85/145 LS oil in all the diffs, limited slip or not without any trouble.  I know not to use ordinary diff oil in an LS diff.

Hi Keith,

The standard diff oil that was originally put in the early holdens was 80/90. I would think that the 90 weight LS oil would be fine to use in the early diff.

  Hi Keith  I use LS oil in my diff(standard) was advised to do so by an old mechanic as it reduces noise and friction seems fine.

Thanks Roy and Keith.  That was the advice I received also from this chap.  He is one of the older school.  Juts wanted to confirm before I went ahead.
