Hi all,
Can anybody help me locate a bracket for a Melbourne 1956 Olympic badge I am trying to attach to my FC front grill?? I tried to construct one using some bits and pieces, but without any success. On top of that I managed to drop a piece if metal bracket thingy in between the radiator and the grill!!!. How do I get that out? Pull the front grill off or go from the top?? My hands won't fit in between the gap so I can't reach all the way down the bottom to grab it!
Any advice would be immensely appreciated. I really want this beautiful badge on, and want to remove the piece of metal I dropped in there.
Thanks in advance.
Han.

This is how my Uncle fitted the 56 Melbourne Olympic Badge (he purchased at the event) to their new 56 Holden. As my Aunties parents lived in Melbourne, the car was quite often in Melbourne.

Try a magnet on a piece of string to get the metal bit out, unless its aluminium..

get a flexible picker-upper.. flexiWire outer with a 3 prong grabber coming out the end.
that is.. if you can even see where the part dropped.

LOL...that's what my wife suggested last night as she saw me struggling, and cursing trying to get it out!! The gap on the FC is wider so I have to have a bracket to hold the badge in place. There are already three on there from the previous owner, so I thought I would even it out with a fourth on the left looking towards the car to even things out. I have always wanted that Melbourne Olympic badge as well... By the way, if any one is keen for one I have a spare one in very good nick

ridgey_didge,
My wife suggested the magnet thing, but will it pick up zinc plated metals? Any body know?? Will it do any damage if I leave it in there? I don't intend to, but if I wanted to take the car out for a drive before I get it out I didn't want it obstructing anything in there!

Hi Han,
It was nice to chat to you. The badge sounds perfect for an FE and hopefully someone will contact you soon for it. I am sure you will have no trouble in selling it.

Try blue tack or chewing gum on the end of a wire.

Grab a spanner or socket set and undo the top panel for access. 10 minutes work tops. Whilst you are in there, have a look at the back of the grill for a mounting point for the bracket to mount your badge. Regards Alex

Thank you to all with suggestions ...but I have gotten it out with a strong magnet!! A bit of a pain at first as it kept magnetizing to anything metal before it reached the bottom, but I finally got it down there and got it out!! Cheers.
