I HAVE JUST REGISTERED MY FC STATION WAGON AND BEING A BIT SLOW I FITTED 2'' LOWERED HR COIL SPRINGS AND OF COURSE I AM NOW RIDING ON THE BUMP STOPS
I AM SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY IDIOT TO DO THIS,I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO FIT HG V8 COILS,I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE FITTED AS WELL AS SUPPLIERS NAME AND OVERALL HEIGHT OF THE COIL TO ACHIEVE A 2'' DROP

I don't know if the HG coil will fit into the HR front end, maybe they will.
Did you cut the springs yourself or buy the springs already professionally lowered?
If you bought them professionally lowered I would show them the car and ask them to replace the springs.
If you cut them yourself, you just need to cut less off.

I PURCHASED THE COILS FROM JIM HUNTER SUSPENSION AS 2'' LOWERED SPRINGS TO SUIT A HR HOLDEN FRONT END,I DID NOT TELL THEM ABOUT THE EXTRA WEIGHT OF THE ENGINE,SO IT WAS MY FAULT
THE QUESTION I ASKED WAS WHAT BRAND OF COIL AND MODEL OF COIL SPRING HAVE OTHER PEOPLE USED
I KNOW I SAID I WAS SLOW BUT IF I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT IF I HAD CUT TOO MUCH OF THE COIL IF I HAD DONE IT MY SELF I WOULD BE A TOTAL IDIOT

I rang Kmac, told them 2-inch lowered to suit extra weight of V8.. and to my luck that's what I got... perfect.

Maybe Robin could measure up the springs for you, as I know the car has since been raised.

Cheers

Looks like I gave KMAC praise to soon, the new springs are sagging and they are going to change them over on Friday
I am not surprised as when we took out the springs supplied by Jim Hunter they looked identical but i thought they know better than an idiot like me

I contacted KMAC and discussed the problem and although i had to get to BANKSIA they took the springs out, made a heavier pair and replaced them all free of charge of course and they were so professional and apologetic I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.  I am sure the problem is now solved.
