Hi
I am planning on keeping my 161 Fe sedan legal so i though id keep the 161 which is under 15% bigger than original and maybee turbo it. I know all i need to know about turbos, but im not sure if many people have done it before. Not for horsepower reasons, just for somthin different i guess.
Any help would be good. thanx Liam

How's that?  161 is more than 15% capacity increase over the stock grey, even if you call it 138 rather than the correct 132.5 cu.in. that were fitted to FEs.

I don't know what state you're in, but in NSW the rules suggest that fitment of a turbo or supercharger (at least where it wasn't a factory option) onto anything will fall outside the limits of "Owner Certified" modification.

From the RTA's Light Vehicle Modification Guide:
Quote
Examples of minor (owner certified) modifications are:
* engine changes where the capacity increase is less than 15% above the maximum size engine available for the vehicle (providing no major structural modifications are necessary and where noise and/or exhaust emission ADRs apply, all standard equipment such as carburettors, exhaust systems, exhaust gas recirculating valves, oxygen sensors and catalytic convertors relating to noise and emission control are retained and operate correctly);

I'd ring an engineer before spending any money.

cheer
