Looks like a tidy starter.By the way,if you're not planning to use that rear seat which is fall red and obviously from an FC,I am very interested in buying it as mine has a black rubber stain on it which can not be removed.Cheers,Jamie.

Yes I bought it from Pat, I think myself lucky that he let it go. I had my eye on it for awhile and jumped at it when he decided to sell. He bought a few good parts and pulled it apart and put it back together again which makes things a bit easier to work on. But as you guys know it ALOT of WORK and Cash to get it back to GOOD Looking and Driving Condition. I was wrapped to be able to start it and drive it onto the car trailer and rego the next day!

We are using a 7" Grinder with 16, 36 and 80 grit discs? The paint comes off pretty easy but the red oxide and RUST is like diamonds ! The trick is to keep moving to reduce overheating the panel. Needless to say I have to use HI Build undercoat !

sounds abit rough on the steel iam using strip discs for the angle grinder takes all paint and rust of and doesnt leave any marks in the steel the discs are made of plastic and can be bought from most places i swear by them and i only have to use regular etch primer to cover it

Yeah I used a 8" grinder to strip my ute (when I owned it) with 40 grit discs. Worked a treat. Careful when you get to the lead.

I have found either works well but sanding discs are a lot more harsh and you have to be very carefull.Strip discs are great but can easily over heat and distort the panel if you are not carefull.Cheers,Jamie.

i agree gotta be heaps careful the discs i use heat up the panel quick smart |
