Does it come up better than sand blasting?

Go to farmers warehouse they feed it to horses any farm joint.
Blasting is a lot quicker but its good on delicate bits

You can get it in 20litre tubs, I only did the hand brake handle so needed only a little.
It came up a treat, apparently the molasses and water creates acid that attacks the rust, so more rusty pieces need longer.
All I can really tell you, just wanted to have a go and see what everyone had been talking about really.

Just be aware that the mix will eat away any alloy parts, and will not remove or get under any painted or greasy sections. Otherwise works great.

I have had Molasses for years to dip my parts in and it still works fine. I bought a 44 gallon drum and mixed it 50/50 with the drums i have and it worked fine, i think it works better if it is heated up. I found it didn't take as long to strip rust in summer as it does in winter. I really don't think there is a use by date. It's only sugar after all.

The panel welding isn't mine Pedro... I make straight panels warped so Cory from CJ's fabrications is doing all of the rust and gap work for me. He uses a TIG and does great work! Should come up a treat!  |

I used my cousins tig who is a fabricator and it was quiet easy, more easy I found when i got the flow going that the MIG.

Bit of an update... Better follow up from the quarter panel first...    All lined up ready for the final weld. NOS stuff is the goods! This is the difference between a NOS sill and a repo  You can see the curve in the NOS, which Cory grizzled about but has sorted it I believe. The he sends me these...   I told him that he could make a little money if he wanted to make a batch of these, but I can't quite print what he said... I will work on him. |
