Hey guys
I have joined this site because like many of you guys i like a cool fcfe. Now this perticular fcfe i have seen somewhere in Sydney? It is usually at the sydney nostalgia drags and the cars description is;
Flat black
drawn on blue crayon? flames
mexican blanket interior
general beast with a 6 cyl

If that is any of you guys cars? please send us some pics to matt_whitest@hotmail.com
I am looking to do an fcfe up to that style.

What is everyone views on it?

a bloke named luke is the owner,he works at route 66 just on crown street in darlinghurst sydney cbd.i am a little worried about that term ratrod though.i am going for a much similar look and would never call my car a rat rod.i think that term is for the norm that dont understand,i just got some whitewalls painted on my tyres and had to tell the guy i was going for the rat look so he would give me 2 inch walls.i wasn't that impressed, but ya gotta deal with it.
a rat rod is a very broad term these days, compared to what one was back in the day.maybe i have to deal with it.
anyway i have some pics i'll try to post

Rat rod
isn't it controvertial
yes i know everyone loved it for a bit and now hate it?But the thing is when i wrote it ...did it not struck an image in your head of what particular style i was looking for? To me a rat rod is something that is made the cheapest way and to me the COOLEST  way ....anyway its a f---ing sick car to me and if anyone has pics of  it i would love it

waynos if he is thinking of selling it im keen! Wink

"beater" is probably the appropriate term for a post 48.  Wink

but........ that usually applies to one that is pretty well bog standard looking from the outside and looks like it just came out of the paddock (Ratbox would definitely know the look - you know the type with moss etc!).  That doesn't really apply to this one as it is blatantly obvious that this is not an original looking car.  So it's anybody's guess as to what an appropriate term is for a car of this styling.  Cheesy

 Roll Eyes

Probably about a hundred different names people call that style of car.

I call it a "boy racer".

Anyway, I like it  Cool Cool Cool

Well, whatever you want to call it, it's better than mine, it's together and it runs. The owner can enjoy it like he obviously appears to be doing.

That in itself has got a lot going for it.

I agree Keith,I would give anything for my car to even look anything like this and be drivable.Does anyone know what size/pattern rims he is running? They look like 15's. Huh

Funny, I just read "the boulevard crawl" column in CKD, the guy was going on about people's obsession with classifications. I love the car and I bet he isn't afraid to drive the rims off it either.
