 Hi all,

Back again. It's been a while since last seen so here is a bit of an update.




This shows the amount of sick metal around the fuel tank area


Maybe this shows the sick tin



This next one shows all under floor repairs done and half the floor paint in oxide. The one remaining task is to refit the transmission tunnel which was cut out to allow the fittment of a much larger engine and gearbox.



And here's the hole in need of filling with more tin

I couldn't find a pic of the hole in need of tin, so here's one I prepared earlier

Hi all,
It's been a while. The fllor is done and the underside has been stone guarded (most of it) It is a rust free body now. Progress pics to follow.

And lets not forget the site supervisor. She'll be looking for a lift in the back I reckon


The tray area is very good. It hasn't had a hard life and won't take to long to complete I'm hoping.

Looks good Rusty, great progress, if you need a piece of replacement sill I have a section that has had a few bits used out of it, but still plenty left for patching.

It's good too see the floor hump air conditioning hatch closed up

Hey Rusty,nice work.What is the modifying you have done on the handbrake/crossmember support?Are you making a new rear gearbox transmission mount as this support is no where near strong enough for this job.

TTV6FC,

That little mod stops the gear box from hitting or bumping that part of the car. As far as I know it is only there to support the handbrake mechanism and if the rear engine mount(s) give up then the engine and gearbox will stay pretty close to where it is and not on the road. I've done the same on the wagon and sedan as well.
By the way folks the floor is now painted black.
May start on the tray area soon. More pics to follow.

 Here are a few more progress pics to wet the appetite. The body is now at the stage where I can leave it for a bit and start on the front sub frame.

This shows the turret. As can be seen by my magnificent photographic skills, there is very little work to do on it.


These 2 show the front and side of the tray area and the conition of it. Again not much to do.

Hi all,

Have the roof back to bare metal and I am looking for advice on painting. I'm going to do it myself in acrilic. Do I etch it first. What is high fill? How long can I leave it in under coat, or do I colour the roof as soon as I can. What filters do I use on the compressor? Any help / advice appreciated.

Hi all,

We're back. Cleaned up and put some oxide on the outside of the front end today. Still a fair bit to do on it. A bit of patching, but not serious. Here's a couple of pics.






You can notice the closest corner needs a bit of work.





Just need to get stuck into the inside sections now. Then it can be painted and put back on the car.

I was thinking white roof ,and the rest of the car gray.
Upholstery, gray with white inserts (FE style) It should look quite good.
The wheels , gray (13"x 6") with white wall tyres. Something along those lines.

Had a bit of a play with the ute yesterday, like fixed the front on with all the bolts in the right places. Also put the guards on (only Temp) and the bonnet (not done yet) to see what it will look like. Here are a coupla appetisers.







Should be good when done. To bad it won't be done for the Forbes trip (to see its brothers)
