FE/FC bench seat brackets

I was wondering if anyone knows, did the FE come out with wooden brackets under the bench seat as compared to the bakerlite brackets in the FC. As recently I have wrecked several and all the FEs have had wooden brackets. Is this just a coincidence or is it common. Has anyone had an FC (original) with the wooden brackets?

Slim, I've had 3 FC sedans many years ago and they all had the bakerlite spacers. My FE ute has the same and is original. They do tend to crack with age and rough roads. The ones you have wrecked may have been replaced with wooden spacers due to age.
Just my thoughts

Slim - I believe all 1956 and some of 1957 FE's had wooden risers. This appears to be original equipment, although I have not seen any documentation to the effect.

Slim, Gary, Ken,
not having installed my seats yet...what's their purpose??
do they go under the front bracket or the rear one?
are they just for height adjustment?
I've seen them in my parts boxes and wondered.....hmmmm

they go under both front and rear, but the rear ones are smaller about half the size of the front ones, and yes they are to my knowledge for a height purpose

You won't think they're state of the art if you over-tighten the seat bolt and crack the bakelite in two (or more) pieces
They're never the same again.
I reckon a metal sleeve in the holes would be some protection against that happening.
