Just happened to look over a back fence today and low and behold I spotted a FE windowless van and an FC ute and a FE standard sedan.  I went and knocked on the door and spoke to a 81 yr old and after a quick chat he took me into the rear yard for a gander.  Because the yard is full on pine trees they are are well well beyong repair.  BUT the van has a near mint roof and windowless sides and I can take it (not free) Is anyone on here interested in it?  If not I think I will just get it anyway as it really is in good nick.  He bought it brand new and when finished with it parked it under the tree where it now sits, he could not sell it............. judging by the dash and rear it was in very good nick when parked, Ive got the steering wheel and it it mint, no cracks.  The sedan has got a tili kit Ive never seen before but all thats left of it is the drivers door.  The ute has got a rust free tail gate on it and I can buy that also if I want, anyone interested??  Im going back later in the week to get what I want, he also has a subframe there, but rusty but still pretty good.  Will get pics and send em on to stinky to post

As good as a 50 yr old tailgate with no rust can be!!  Got the usual dings in the back of it, been sitting there a long time.  They are hard to get now but I spose new skins are easy to get for them

Hey Tayz
A FE van is a rare old girl as you would know.
Are you sure it can't be brought back to life?
Looking forward to the pics.

Hi Tayz

So if you are not looking to build the FE windowless, would there happen to be an ID plate up for grabs?

Ours mysteriously fell off the car from when I first bought it 20+ years ago to when we bought it back last year! I'm not overly fussed because I've got the car but if one were available at a decent price, well .....
especially if it was for an Elk Blue one (gee real surprise on the colour huh!)

I will grab the ID tag but I will hang onto it for now as they are pretty rare, cruser56 got me first for it by a pm.  It would be grreat to restore it but it has no bottom at all pretty much, the pine trees have seen to that.  I will grab as many good bits as I can.  I cant beleive how much pine trees rot out a car.  Its snapped in two where the subfrmae meets, will definately get some good pics

Hi Tayz

No problems.  Like I said - I have the car and that's really the main thing to me.   Grin

And, it would be nice to see another one on the road if you were inclined to build a bitsa.

Tayz the most important things to get off all the cars is the ID plate details and the chassis numbers that go with them  Wink Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

No worries Ken, I will pull all the id tags off them and bring them home.  I will also get all the proper id tags from the 4 FC sedans we dragged home from Gurungarong, oh one was an FE and i think an early one at that, it sits next to an FC shell and both are stripped bare, we couldnt get over the differences between the two.
