G Day.
I was reading my local paper this morning at the breakfast table, The Campbelltown Macarthur advertiser, in the drive section there's an article on the 1950s Vanguards, Its celebrating the Marque's 60th anniversary by doing a 8 day rally covering 2000 Kms.
It also stated that the Vanguard was the official car used in the 1956 Melbourne Olympic games Undecided.
I always believed it was our very own FE Holden.
Did some one get it wrong?  Roll Eyes

They sure did Leon. We all know it was the mighty FE and they should look at the pictures more closely.
Cheers,
 Tony.

I haven't seen the article or the photo that you are talking about in this thread, but not ONLY FE Holdens were used at the 1956 Olympics.

"Just to stop everyone thinking that only FE Holdens were used during the Games in 1956, apparently there were 121 cars of which 20 were Holden sedans.  Others used were Humbers, Austins, Morrises, Customlines, Dodges, Plymouths, De Sotoes, Rovers, and VW Kombis.  Something in that list for everyone "

The quote above was 'cut and pasted' from a previous discussion on this forum.

Just posting some of these pics again because a lot of them have disappeared from the older threads.
