Day 17

The Nats Cheesy
Registration/picnic/fish & chips day.

The hotel carpark is starting to fill nicely

Signed in & picked up our goodies bag before setting off on the lunch cruise.
Had time to catch up on some stuff

Then a short leisurely cruise past Constitution Dock to Sandy Bay for lunch.
We've made it all the way across the country with a wobbly harmonic balancer. Hotlips is bring one from S.A. and the A.C.T. guys have offered to do the repairs tomorrow.
Driving with my fingers crossed that it doesn't break NOW Embarrassed
Had a lovely lunch

It's a bit chilly Grin
Max temp is lower than Perths Min.
(But it doesn't stop the locals going for a swim Shocked)

Enjoyed catching up with mates we haven't seen for a while during fish & chips dinner.
Sorry I was too busy talking (just ask Cathy) to take photos

Cool Cool Cool & Cathy

Day 18

Cruising again Cheesy
To the Cenataph at the Regatta grounds for the Show & Shine.
The ACT guys offered to fix the wagon at the show... thought it might be better to fix it later without an audience of experts Cheesy

Pics

And the work started on the wagon

The wobbly bit coming out.
( I mean being removed. Not that it's gay Roll Eyes )

Looking sorry CrySad

HOORAY. The NOT  wobbly bit goes in Cheesy

It's getting late and there's a party to go to so it's decided to finish tomorrow before cruising

Then it's party time
Sorry again. To much eating, drinking, dancing ( and talking) and didn't get many pics

This should give you an idea what it was like

Bed time
I have to be up early to watch Roll EyesSmiley the guys putting the wagon together

Day 19

CRUISE DAY Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Thanks to the A.C.T. guys
Who had the wagon back in the carpark by 7.30am.

Cruised to Baskervlle race track for a couple of sedate laps before we parked it in the pits to let the serious go faster cars have the track. And I've got GOA350 on my rear bumper

And started the Games
3 pin tyre rolling and Lorene nearly gets a strike

Then it's distance & accuracy skills. Mick ( Mr President) steps up

A picture speaks a thousand words

Gutter ball (gutter tyre ?)

Then cruise Cheesy to Rosetta foreshore for lunch and more games

The traditional Nats lunch line

Annette leads the wobbly bolt & spoon race

Is 5/8th" bigger or smaller than 52mm Huh Huh

We don't know

Back at the hotel to catch up with the diary (because I've been to busy talking to do it Roll Eyes )

And now we're off for trophy presentations and more partying ( & talking:) )

This is great coverage for those of us who cannot be there, many thanks.
(BTW - viewing on a 27" monitor, noticed what could be a finger print on the lens just above/right centre of shots)

Thanks DJ. I've cleaned the speck off the camera lens. The return home pics should be a lot clearer now.
Will be interesting to check them on computer screen when we get home. I can't see bugger all on the phones screen with my eyesight

Day 20

CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners at last nights trophy presentations.

Les from WA scored the Longest Distance trophy Smiley

Everyone is out cruising the highways doing their touristy stuff or heading home today.

The wagon is running sweet Cool
I've got a full tank of fuel
And the whole day to crooooooze
Cheesy:D:D:D:D

We are heading up the East coast as far as we can. ( it's that.. lines on maps   thing CheesyRoll Eyes )

Went 10 minutes down the road...
Sorell Markets are on. So we stop for a look. Found an antiques shop open just up the road. Went in and found 100 Vic club members inside.
We still found stuff to buy Cheesy
I got these

Which are on the back of these

1954 editions. Negotiated the price down to $5 ea Smiley

And I found this

It's yours if you want it Steve Smiley

We eventually hit the road

I like these East Coast roads
I get to see the scenery

Only made it to Swansea

and it was getting late and it started to rain.
Went inland to Campbell Town ( MORE lines on map) and took the highway back to Hobart in the dark ( & rain Shocked)

Need to go pack our bags now

The Nats are over Sad
And we catch the boat tomorrow

I suspected it would be hard to see your end.
Great shots, enjoying the coverage. Thanks.

Day 21

On the way home
Only 8 (or 9?) days to go before the adventure comes to an end Sad

We've got a short way to go.
And a long time to get there Cheesy
(to misquote the bandit)
To get to Devenport and board the boat that takes us off the island

Cruised through Ross and did THE photo

Whoops Embarrassed

I meant THIS photo

Did a few towns along the way
And somehow managed to NOT buy any second hand stuff

Have arrived in Devenport and boarded the ferry

And heartily sang....
"Oh   ferry across the Mersey
Cos this land's the place we love" Cheesy
It was the little one
While we were queueueing for the big one

And in the Q.
FEs & FCs & hot rods as far as the eye can see SmileySmileySmiley

And once again we descend in to the basement

Out on the deck as we say goodbye to Tassie Cry
