Chassis numbers

Hi guys

Can anyone tell me at what chassis number the FC,s finished ?.

20 odd years of research (yes I have been collecting these stupid numbers for over 20 years) has led me to the following:
The highest Sydney chassis number found is 67914
highest Melbourne chassis number found is 64898
highest Brisbane chassis number found is 26830
highest Adelaide chassis number found is 18929
highest Perth chassis number found is 15263
Total is 193792 less 5000 since each state started at 1000 = 188792
According to GMH - 2723 cars were supplied CKD for export (to NZ) gives a total of 191515
The stated total FC production by GMH is 191724
This gives a difference of 209 cars which means that I am pretty close to the end of production for each of the 5 facilities. But I have no way of telling which factory the remaining 209 cars came from so I divide 209 into 5 and add this to each state.
209 / 5 = 41.8 (round off to 42)
So my estimated total FC production from each state is as follows:
Sydney FC 67914 S
Melbourne FC 64940 M
Brisbane FC 26872 B
Adelaide FC 18971 A
Perth FC 15305 P

If anybody knows of an FC with a higher chassis number than the ones listed at the start of this story, it would be very much appreciated if I could have the details of the car as it will make this calculation more correct

Very interesting to see that your numbers add up so close to GMH's.
It may have taken you 20 years, but I am sure everyone appreciates the data that collection of numbers has given us.
BTW, your estimate for Sydney is off, should be:
Sydney FC 67956 S

By your numbers, any idea what is the youngest FC still on the road.
ie the car with the highest number. Can you calculate a relative comparison between the states to determine this?
Is there a way to know which FC's were 1960 builds?

Very hard to tell the youngest car, the only one I have complete details of is the Vic car which was registered on 30/12/1959 and has engine number L638544
All the other car details are incomplete with no engine number details provided. The Sydney and Brisbane cars have unknown owners and , the Adelaide car is a wreck in the Barossa yard and the Perth car was for sale.

The highest engine number I have recorded is L638747 which is in a ute, but it is not the original engine for that vehicle. This could very well be an engine from an early 1960 car. I have 2 other engine numbers recorded above L638544, one is in a spec wagon and the other in a ute. Both these vehicles have a lower
chassis number than the sedan so would date older than it.
Not much more detail unfortunately

I also found it interesting that your totals is so close to that of GMH.

You are a mine of info. My car comes close to the end, being 67881S. To bad I dont have the original engine.
