Heh guys
For those that are interested a couple of photos of my new purchase. A one owner EH sedan  been in a shed in Upwey for 20 years bought new from mentone motors in 1964,31500 genuine miles! Drives like new, will need a coat of paint at some stage and some rust repairs but interior is like brand new though needs a good clean. A later model i know but thought it may be of interest.

As far as i am aware it is a quite rare color for EH it is qiute late 1964 so trying colors? new or uncommon color? I can let you know the spec plate details if that is a help.

Got offered it at a real good price so couldnt resist and still had some of the wagon sale money left! Plans at this stage just to cruise in and paint and rust fix later in the year.Will definetly keep it as a stocky looking for a Sunvisor for it and will add a little chrome probably bonnet strip and guard splits as well. if any body knows of any eh bits as mentioned or front guards please PM

Brett, it looks to be the same colour as my Appendix J EH I'm building. Royal Umber body with something beige top. (GP will know top colour name) Post your plate details so we can compare. They look good next to an FE. (No-one can complain now)

Nice pick up Brett, Stan Bennet of FX - FJ fame liked that colour so much he painted his 48 215 that colourcolour.
Is it Hydra-matic or manual?

The top is definetly a white but it has been resprayed at some stage?
Plate details     EH225M-11904
                     838-035
                     568-384
                     568-5091
Small plate under firewall ID plate  NO  58508
And details on left hand inner guard  EH  50759M.
Funny sounding name for a color?

838 Code indicates Windorah Beige over Royal Umber as Graeme has said - The plate should also have 568-5384 on it.

The same codes that are on my car. Brett, your PAINT line should read 568-5384.

Trim code should be 838-C35, which is Aztec Gold & Jamboree Brown.
Is it a 149 or 179??

It is a 149 and drives like a gem! So different to the FC it is unbeleivable!!! Never driven a EH before so it is all new to me. More photos soon if you are keen.

latest EH update efor those that are interested! Spec plate should read as i have re read it properly! Trim 838-035,Paint 568-5384,Insert N/A,Top 568-5091, Secondary tag under spec plate NO 058508.
More photos as disscussed and asked for GP and others Smiley Smiley



























Interior as you would notice still needs a good scrub have bought the Dissol etc so hopefully soon, i am taking it down to Phillip isalnd on the weekend for a spin which should be fun.

Congratulations Brett, lovely car, same interior colours as my EJ.

Sometime in the early 60s, possibly EK certainly by EJ, GMH changed the colour palette each year. Royal Umber was a late EH colour released along with a dark blue and green. This seems to reflect the trend away from pastels, they were common in EJs and early EHs but by the end of EH production in 1965 had gone.

You are right about the way they drive, a good low mileage stockie is a delight. To my mind the EJ/EH represents the first of the "modern" Holdens, they are a quantum leap ahead of the earlier ones. I also think they are nicer to drive than the the HD/HR mainly because the dash is much nicer, the driving position is better and for some reason the gearchange is also sweeter.

I find it interesting to look at the progression in subframe dimensions from 48/215 to EJ. Its hard to believe the early subframe could have supported the car. Of course all this extra strength and weight impacted performance, hence the red motor.

Which is why the EH is the most revered early Holden (but the EJ is prettier  Grin)

You'll have to get rid of those multicoloured plug leads & aftermarket oil filter  Grin. You can get leads from your local Holden dealer (Part No. 7423454) for less than $30, and oil filter (either PF10 or AC03) for about $7.

I'm looking forward to seeing it next time I'm in Melbourne (not sure when that'll be?)

Will you ever want to drive your FC again?

Re: that clutch fluid tin reservoir you have mounted, is it original fitment for EH's? I think I may have one like that in my collection.
