Got bored so I went and painted one of my old "fridges" Thinking about adding flames around bottom to hide some paint mistakes will update pics if I do (dont hold your breath waiting though ) PS It doesnt work so I've stripped the guts and insulation out and will be using it my "office" to store my collectable bits

Just think how much "COOLER" it would be with the flames licking up the door and just to TOP it of a set of board racks with a old knee board on top. FC427

Are Tilli Strips available for this model?
Could some one more technically able photo shop one?
I love the lines, chrome and curves.
Cheers David

Cathy wont let me tattoo flames on her (shes not real impressed with the FC tattoo I want either) I will have to get her drunk one day So i will have to stick to flames on fridges This is just practice for when i do Cathys ''ugly duckling FE'' and it will become ROAST duck did the flames, added some chrome, all it needs now is the board racks It didn turn out to bad for just a few old cans of spray paint lying around the shed

VERY VERY VERY COOL (NO PUN INTENDED). I HAVE AN OLD FRIDGE SIMILAR TO THOSE YOU HAVE AND IT STILL WORKS BUT GREG AND I ARE THINKING OF USING IT ONLY FOR STORAGE AS THEY USE A LOT OF POWER AND LET OFF A FAIR BIT OF GREEN HOUSE GAS. MY ELDEST DAUGHTER WANTS IT AND THAT'S FINE BUT AFTER SEEING YOUR PAINT JOBS I AM INSPIRED OF DOING SOMETHING SIMILAR. NICE WORK SURFERBOY. CHEERS HOTLIPS

Guys, these old fridges are great! There should be no reason why they can't be upgraded to new refrigerant. I haven't looked into it myself, but may if pressed. A new compressor would probably be required, new gas & maybe the capillary tube. There is NO problem with the old gas as long as the fridge hasn't got a leak (refrigerant). The door seal would have to be good as well. You DO need a licenced fridgy these days as you CANNOT let the old gas go to atmosphere. Have fun with them, I wish I had one. Colin.

we have one as our main fridge in the kitchen, its a mid 50's president, i dont think anything can go wrong with them, however it wont fit a 2L ice cream in the freezer and the freezer needs frequent defrosting, it came from a council clean up years ago but they dont seem to be on clean ups any more. My nan had exact same model president fridge, at the time it was there pride & joy and hardly anyone in the street had a fridge, she bought it on finance, the finance company said they would send out a letter and she never heard from them again so the fridge was free!
