Here is an advert that sings the paises of an FC over small cars. Interesting to see this debate has been around for a while. Only difference back then was that the small cars were led by a British invasion instead of Japanese. This ad was found in the Readers Digest, March '59.

I would do 10k miles just to and from work, plus that again work at least probably more, plus running the kids around to things.... probably 30k a year minimum....  Shocked
