Hi all,
Found this FC standard wagon today and the dad of the guy that owns it thinks that it might be for sale. It’s pretty rusty and would only be good to wreck out. The engine turns over and would probably run with a little bit of work. It has a couple of spare grey motors sitting in the back. I know it’s hard to value without looking at it but what do you think it would be worth??

Here are the id tag details

BODY: FC-219-874-M
TRIM: 173-667
PAINT: 256-7770

Chassis Number: FC-53502-M

Thanks for looking,
Mark

I paid $100 for a similar looking special wagon without a motor and spares in the back about 5 years ago, if that helps.

Hi Mark
I have no idea. But looking at the condition of the wagon I agree with you on the wrecking part, but hey we have seen some extensive work carried out on vehicles before to bring them back to life and keep them genuine.
A car is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay.

Whats with the power point and switch under the bonnet ?

Cheers Jim

What is the border of a too far gone and good peroject these days.
if you are going to replace the inner sills, outer sills, floor sections, do major reconstructive surgery on the A pillars and boot floor, swap the subframe, rebuild the doglegs in and out and put new rails underneath wich is what your average FC project requires now.

Gday there mark, is it nearby??  I would seriously think if its stuffed rust wise only up to a couple a hundred dollars.  Maybe a good one for you to get and get some good bits together off it??   If you need a hand give me a yell, cheers

Can't see it being worth more than $100 really, it has got to be very rusty sitting outside for this amount of time and rust repairs just aren't worth doing on a car that is this far gone.  There looks to be hardly anything worth saving on the whole thing apart from a few bits here and there.
Start with a car that is in better condition if you want a project.

Just my 2c worth

Hi,
I can see 2 bits on there worth grabbing. The floor shifter may be OK & then there is the set of Torana GTR centre caps (Or what looks very much like them). They are worth about $100, so if you can get it for that, flog the caps, the rest of the car is free......

Might make a nice conversation piece is someone's front yard.... Bit of a pity to see it in such a state I guess...

Would the moss be extra? Grin

Still a nice find though!! Thanks for the pics!

Cheers

I think the power point and switch might have been for a spot light or maybe a light for working on the engine but I am unsure. It is near Castlemaine
The floor shifter looks to be in good condition. Do GTR centre caps have Holden badges in the middle? If not they aren’t GTR centre caps. Heres a better photo.

It has plenty of rust in it, the back of it has been sitting in the dirt because of the weight of the engines and has just about rusted through.

Nope, they aren't. Looked like they were, but they are just those push in caps.
Shame....

If you need wagon glass, I have a set. $50
Also, a very good tailgate, already blasted & primed. $100
Also, I can source a set of NOS wagon quaters if you need. Probably $500

Let me know.

I've just bought a wagon I want to restore.
I haven't got it yet, it's coming from Warick.
How would I go about sourcing a windscreen and tail light lenses?
Thanks for any info.
Shaun.

Apart from second hand, both these items are available new.  Any reputable windscreen shop will supply and fit a screen whilst Rare Spares have new tail light lenses.
