OFF TOPIC  Roll Eyes

If you're not a regular SBS viewer, you might have missed the fact that Top Gear resumes tonight at 7.30pm. We're about a year behind what's shown on the BBC, so this will be the start of the UK 2006 season.

It's one of the best things on free-to-air television.

cheers

Damn it.  Sad
A day earlier notice would have been helpful.  Wink
Had to work back tonight and if I had known, I would have set the VCR.
Oh well, next week can't come around quick enough.
Does SBS reshow it at another time later in the week?
Thanks for the headsup.

Sorry, if it wasn't for the fact that someone here at work reminded me, I would have forgotten all about it.  As it was I wound up here until 6.30, so missed the first 20 minutes or so.

I've recorded the rest, for what that's worth if you want a copy.  I'm not aware of it being rebroadcast...

Nope, according to the site, 7.30pm Mondays only.

cheers

They can't play cricket to save themselves, but no one does motoring shows like these blokes at the old Beeb (BBC). They tell it straight and pull no punches.
We used to have a similar ABC show called Torque, which is sadly missed.

5th Gear is a good pommie car show too, only seen it on Foxtel though.
In one ep, the female(!) driver got the convertible Merc so far out of shape on the track that the auto-roll-bar activated. Race car driver Tiff Needle(spelling) is usually drifting rather driving around the track.

If you've got broadband watch this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN0EntBXSow

Its the Top Gear test of the pommie equivalent to the Monaro. They flog the absolute crap out of it.

This is the 5th Gear test.

Even Col would've liked that , off topic post and all!! Grin

Cheers,

Craig.

Yep,
caught it last night. Very good, woth the hassles of chasing my 11 YO girl away from Home & Away!!
Some very sweet rides there, but a little out of my price range.

You want to see something Waaaaaaay cool? How about 60's Split window Kombi, beating a 933GT & an Aston Martin Vantage around a race circuit!
Watch this;

Here is the story of the build, if you can read German;

Hahah, great isn't it.
I was telling a mate about it down here, who has a big auto workshop & specialises in German beasts. He is a Porsche buff himself. He loved the vid & so today, we bunged my 55 on the Dyno has just installed.

Peaked at around 25bhp!! Hahaha, that is NOT a misprint. Don't know how they get anywhere with that little HP, but he flies!!!

Channel 10 News were showing the Richard Hammond jet car crash today. Top Gear has resumed in the UK and the video of the crash has been released. Camera angles inside car, as well as outside. You see the right front tyre blow and the car turns hard right into the infield and rolls.
