Hi everyone, I am new and are after some information for my V8 FC project. I am after a wiring diagram that i can use for the efi conversion which will co join with the existing wiring under the dash.I am using standard computer.Also for the members i am having a VT diff set up into my vehicle using commodore trailing arms.Will let you know how it goes in the next couple of weeks.

hey brett,

what EFI set up wre you running?

if you use the Delco 808 VN -VP comm.

just use the GMH workshop manual.

this is a MAP sysytem not MAF.

it can be spliced into your existing system.  A few relays will need to be added to power up the ECU, injectors, fuel pump etc.

the bulk of your wiring will be sensors to ECU.

Thanks for the reply ed. It is a VN-VP set up. I thought someone might have a wiring diagram that they have for such a conversion including original ignition switch and accessories.If not i will just unpick the original commodore loom that i have.

ive used the entire engine loom from the VN-VP,

mated it up to an Air ride aftermarket fuse system but used all the VN VP relays.

I did use the original headlight switch, it energisees the relays now, rather than carry the big current.

the benefit of the relays is fantastic compared to the old wiring.

pretty straight forward just time consuming, let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks ed. Will keep you posted how i go.i will be setting motor up after i get it back from having the new rear end installed. (VS with trailing arms and mini tubbs)

Sounds cool Brett,

just curious if you guys are going to weld in a cross member to bring the trailing arm mounts further forward than the existing front leaf eyes?

also are you going to mount coilovers rear of the diff? or on top of the trailing arm?

pics would be cool.

Ed i have no idea . i gave the car to Mc Donald bros chasis engineers and told them what i wanted.This was in conjunction with my own engineer.My engineer did not want tubular trailing arms but i had already decided on original instead of the leaf springs. Yes they are going to use coil over shocks but at this stage i don,t know what position.I saw the car this morning and the original wheel arches have been cut out and the 18 inch wheels positioned under so they could measure and shorten the diff accordingly.Looks fantastic even if it is still in undercoat and bare.Took photos for the album.Regards brett

consider doing a 4 bar rear? since you're halfway there?

you should put it on airbags if you're going for trailing arms.

sounds like a cool ride.

ed whilst it will get up and boogie i want it as a good streeter that i can drive without too much hassle with the police.Outside appearance will be standard apart from the wheels and lowered whilst the inside will be standard and yes i am thinking about having a column shifter.

low profile is always fun, i get absolutely zero (negative) attention from the police.

that's the aim of the game  Wink

actually still impressed at the number of comments saying how the car is "nice and stock"
