In regards to the floor mod, the best way is to fit and EK auto transmision tunnel, alternatively you may be able to purchase a tunnel from CRS or similiar see the following thread to show what has been done by others.

They were made by Dellow, CRS and others. This way the standard hydraulics are retained, I don't know if they are still available but they come up on ebay ever so often, one of the forum members may also have one they want to sell.
