Skyline Blue paint formula

Hi all,

Wondering if someone might be able to supply me with an acrylic formula for Skyline Blue. Paint no. 256-2051

I'm doing some touch up jobs on my FC and have had the colour computer matched by two paint shops so far, but neither have come close. Haven't had much luck tinting by eye either. At the moment the paint shop is playing trial and error with my money and it's getting quite expensive!

See this thread Skyline Blue is a US 55 Chev colour, you will be able to get the formula from US colour charts.

I am on holidays at the moment in Brisbane, I will be back home tomorrow afternoon. I have the codes for Skyline blue in acrylic. I will put them up tomorrow night

If you are doing touch ups then its unlikely you'll get a match to a formula.

Take your car to your local panel shop and get the painter to match it for you. Most will have an electronic device to do this but all should be able to eye match.

The paint shops I've been too both had a go with the colour matching hardware. The problem with this method (as explained to me) is that the device only recognises the nearest colour match in there database. In which case, the match was a Triumph motorcycle blue by one shop and an early falcon blue by the other. I had the paint reps try and tint/match each of these colours by eye but both agreed that 99% of the time you need to start off with the correct formula to get a close match.

Sorry for the delay, here is the code for 4 litres of Skyline Blue. This match is the same colour as Graham Pryce's car (Top 10 at last FC Nationals)

I hope the above code makes sense. It was written on the back of the label on the tin in the event that I needed to get more.
