We have ADR rules in place for what our cars should be built and fitted with, and I think, imo,Rares have missed the mark with their 'tin can' floor pans,i assume these are made in China for 50cents and sold here for $70,moneys not the issue here,it's the product,i hope they fix this problem as there's lots of unhappy guys out there! You should never assume, these pans are made by Rare Spares in Australia using BlueScope steel (BHP) they are 1mm thickness the same as original , they have been made from this material for many years Les

For Sale and Wanted / Reproduction Parts / Re: FC Special Badge

It is a combination of things that come together, feedback, our wish list, expert advice, advice from car clubs , forums, our manufacturing capabilities, model fitment and most importantly what’s left in in the manufacturing budget. The next diecast part we make will not fit FE FC at all it will be a HQ part. The tail lamp rim is the next FE FC diecast part to be made and yes I would love to make the Headlamp rim and if possible we will eventually make them. The reasons for making the tail rim it fits 4 models (a small reason) the most important reason is that we do not have the capability to make the FE FC headlamp rim at the moment but we will eventually be able too, I would say before the Station Wagon badge. There are other things that come into play but this is a brief description of how decide to make parts I hope it answers your question. Les

There are lenses on the market made from urethane which are brittle and fade, if you are buying lenses make sure they are plastic. The ones from American Auto Parts are Plastic

For Sale and Wanted / Reproduction Parts / Re: FE - EK SILL PANELS

When we first made these sill panels they were a fairly good fit maybe not quite as good as genuine but then again we did not have the luxury of being able to amortise the cost over 4 (FE – EK) model runs but they did fit and were the only ones on the market with pressed ends. When the tooling showed signs of wear and we tried to repair it. That is when they became a lot lesser quality and we removed them from the market some three years ago. So from our point of view they are in the past and let’s move on with these new ones. The main concern appears to be are they the same thickness as the original well no they are not, the originals were in imperial and the new ones are in metric gauge material and are marginally thicker although you would not notice. They look very good, so much better than the current Rare Spares effort. I hope they are made from a thicker gauge metal than the current panels as well.
We do not make any at the moment and have not for 3 years so I am at a lose to know what you mean by our current sill panel .

Craig Vanes, are dead straight with no ends, need to form a bend to follow the curve in the car.
Sounds like the ones Les is talking about are a new Rares model.
Is this correct Les?
Yes they are new with the ends and curve
