I have engine mounts and steering linkages (parts between the pitman arm and the steering arms)  for FC

I am vacating a shed and don't wan t them to go in the bin.

Please call Gus on 0423 016 044 immediately.

If you know of someone else that may want them then call them now.

Would be a shame to lose these to a skip bin!

You need to know
1. if it is definitely in the rear
2. if it is there always or only on acceleration or deceleration.

it's sometimes enough to put a wheel back on , not on the same wheel stud location, to make a vibe.

Continuing...

The front sub frame appears to be real good. But due to earlier repairs the pro decieded to weld the  arms on Roll Eyes
Only a little rust around the rear wheel arches and rear 'beaver?' and boot seal lip.

Some things have developed in the last few months and it seams I'll be moving overseas this year. So this will be a 2 stage build,... for now I'll just be getting some wheels back on so it's a roller. (maybe mount the engine if time permits).

will have some progress photos 2moro.

Well, I've got the photos onto tinypic so here goes.

Bought this about 2 yrs ago

I had lost my licence at the time so my brother in law drove it home. I drove it down the drivewaya couple of times and then it was parked in the shed.

Got the engine, trans and crossmember out in one foul swoop.  Cheesy

Stripped off all the panels, doors, carpet, seats, diff .....

Bought a 'rotisserie' from the same place as a couple of the other guys here  Smiley Wink Grin

Found that floors, sills etc had been done but not really a prof job. Just needs a tidy up.

That'll do for now.

Great stuff Geoff.

How much of the diff narrowing do you plan on doing yourself? What suspension you using?

What are your chassis plans?

Keep the pics and progress coming. Love seeing these types of builds.

9  Technical Board / Modification Help / Re: rack and pinion steering. on: March 08, 2010, 11:08:17 PM
That's a good question. I'd like to know the answer.
i know that for it to fit without shortening it would have to line up with the centre of the lower control arm bush pins, which works out to be about Huh  somewhere around 50 - 55 cm from memory.??

If there was a p/s rack that exact length then that would be well good!

I assume?

Well i was wondering how people had gone with the sump issue.
My engineer has allowed me to notch the crossmember alot so that helps too. I want to use standard trans tunnel if possible so need the engine real low.

On fitting trans to engine: should always have torque conv in trans first then mount to eng. screw seal otherwise.

go the v6!

I'm exited by new things (new to me at least)
That column cable looks good, I may do the same.
And the gas is real trick too!! Cool

HR front end.
HQ stubs
Shortened Comm rack....

Was looking for hk steering arms but have found a pair of lc/lj ones for sale. Are these any good for correct geometry?? (they look a fair bit different to my untrained eye!)

thanks

Hi Pedro.
I've got some steering linkages that I don't require.
I am in WA though so postage may cost a little?
PM me maybe if you're interested. Smiley

Hey Brett.

I didn't get the message. my email is g.kuchel@gmail.com
Yeah i saw that Mc bros did the job.
But do you now if the lower control arms come off the original locations on the body (albeit modified)
I'm not sure if the mounts on the axle tubes are modified so that the arms come out at a different angle also.

cheers for any help

Hi Brett.

Is there any chance of some close up pics of the rear suspension, or maybe you could tell me some info about setting up commo trailing arms etc. I am aware that you got yours outsourced, but I want to do mine myself and could use a few pointers to make it easier. Like where the mount points are compared to original...on the body and the axle tubes.
Cheers. gus
